Mindy Gutow, PhD, ABSNP

Dr. Gutow is a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed School Psychologist with a broad background in teaching and providing evaluation, therapy and consultation services. Prior to starting her private practice in Albuquerque, Dr. Gutow worked as a School Psychologist (Albuquerque Public Schools and Baltimore Public Schools), taught elementary school (New York Public Schools), and maintained a small private practice in Maryland. She was also on faculty at Towson University where she taught counseling and assessment skills to undergraduate and graduate students. Currently, in addition to her private practice, Dr. Gutow is an adjunct professor at Central New Mexico Community College. She has published and presented on the topics of post-traumatic stress disorder in children, bullying, parenting and the parent-child relationship, teacher resilience, and school and community consultation. Dr. Gutow’s comprehensive approach to assessment is based on her extensive training in assessment and empirically based interventions for educational and psychological needs, as well as her experience working with children, families, and schools. She focuses on identifying areas of strength as well as areas of need, working collaboratively, and developing realistic and individualized recommendations that translate easily to real-world settings. In addition to working with families, Dr. Gutow enjoys providing consultation to schools and community-based organizations and presenting on a variety of topics.
